"The beach Sailor's Grave has the memorial of the sailor who died while landing logs onto the cutter. The sheltered beach is a favourite with rockhounds who raid the river for treasures of quartz and semi-precious stones. Also a favourite at low tide with the dog walkers, families with children who play safely in the shallow river which wends its way to the sea. At high tide a firm favourite with surfers."
