I began my clay career in the mid 1990s when I attended pottery night classes at Wellington High School. I quickly realised I was drawn to handbuilding and sculpture and for two years I attended a weekly adult education sculpture class at Petone College in Wellington.

As my work developed I began exhibiting with the NZ Academy of Fine Arts and joined an artists co-operative known as The Bakehouse where I exhibited and sold through our store in Cuba Mall.

My work proved popular and very quickly I was selling through Wellington Potters Gallery and other galleries throughout New Zealand.

I was in two group exhibitions at the Academy known as Going Solo and also entered The Norsewear Art Awards for several years where my work sold well.

I have been on two week long bronze making courses and have made a few bronze pieces for exhibition and sale.

I currently teach two clay classes a week at the local pottery club but most of my time is spent working at home where I have my own kiln and create fun colourful figurines that are slightly quirky!
