Lynne Robinson

Lynne Robinson is a printmaker and mixed media artist, and works from her studio, Artichoke Studio, in Whangamata, Coromandel. To view all Lynne's work currently showcased at The Little Galleries please click here.

"My mother was an excellent printmaker and I inherited both her press and her enthusiasm for this medium. I enjoy the way printmaking lends itself to incorporating different techniques. I have recently attended a workshop on creating works in encaustic wax and I am keen to now explore that further, as another way to incorporate printed images."

Lynne works in a range of traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques, including dry point etching, chine colle and collographs, where gesso may be applied to the plate in a painterly manner. Her work takes an experimental approach to image-making through the layering of texture, line and depth created through various print mediums.

Lynne's subjects are influenced by the coastal and cultural icons of New Zealand, but also explore abstract and personal dimensions.
