Jasmine Keir

My 22-year career as a full-time artist in a variety of mediums has enabled me to participate in art events and exhibit in galleries throughout New Zealand. My current 6-year love has been with copper which I process using a vast variety of ingredients to produce bold natural hues, the magpie in me collects all manner of objects to embellish my works offering a completely unique art piece each time.

My artwork is a very whole process where I complete all the involved labour myself from building the framed substrate to carrying my ideas from mind to hand. I have deliberately taken new shiny copper and processed it to produce a finish that  resembles old forgotten metals often found in derelict Industrial settings yet hints delicately at masters like Klimt from the moody Art Deco/Nouveaux era. My copper art has been sealed so will remain unchanging for years to come.

I deliver to you contemporary art pieces with a raw industrial finish, with a contemporary finish often set off with delicate embellishments to highlight our earths precious and near forgotten ‘gifts’.
