Our galleries in Tairua and Whangamata are now open under Level 2!  We open our doors from Friday to Monday between 10am and 3pm and would love to see you! Due to the The Little Gallery in Tairua being quite small we ask that you please wear a mask as well as following all the normal protocol for this level.  If you are still in lockdown please either email info@thelittlegallery.co.nz or phone Faye on 021888420. We would love to hear from you ... take care ... from our team of artists and volunteers at The Little Gallery.

Ian Webster is a pottery artist with over 30 years of experience, working at Kuaotunu on the Coromandel Peninsula. His recent works in The Little Galleries (click here to see these works) expand on his interests in the female figure, and explore how unique forms and silhouettes can be achieved through the manipulation of clay. Ian's pottery pieces transition between the realms of functional and decorative, and can be displayed both indoors and outdoors.

Ian is mainly self taught and has developed his own distinctive stylised aesthetic, specialising in hand built work using slab and coil techniques. The slab work is more decorative and functional, while the coil work is more sculptural with a strong figurative influence.

Ian's work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions throughout New Zealand.
