Debra Brock is a mixed media artist living in Ruamahunga Bay on Thames Coast, Coromandel. Trained at The Learning Connexion in Wellington, where she learned the value of letting go of her preconceptions about art, Debra was able to allow her creative flow to emerge. Debra believes that all people possess an innate ability to express themselves through creativity, and that to be in touch with one's inner creativity is essential to well-being. Her shared studio in Thames is also a space where she runs creative workshops.

Debra works primarily in mixed media using combinations of acrylics, oils and collage, giving her works a compelling textural depth. She describes her bold, evocative paintings as being expressions of her 'most authentic self'. Driven by an intense interest in people and personal and interpersonal processes, Debra constantly seeks to deepen her connection with herself and the outer world through her art practice. Her most recent works examine the beauty of the Kauaeranga Valley, and the flora and fauna which inhabit the area.
